Welcoming Note from the Ambassador
As the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Brussels embarks on a new endeavor of quality and excellence through our renewed
website, it gives me great pleasure to welcome all of our readers and friends.
The website of the Embassy of Jordan in Brussels aims at shedding light on domestic affairs in Jordan as well as Jordan's central role
in the Middle East and its positive contribution to global affairs.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Belgium have maintained close relations and have succeeded in cooperating closely
in various domains. Jordan has also developed a close partnership with the European Union. Relations between Jordan and Belgium on the
one hand and between Jordan and the EU on the other represent an intuitive evolution of the common values shared by Jordanians and
Europeans with respect to democracy, pluralism and tolerance, in addition to joint efforts in combating extremism and terrorism,
promoting inter-cultural dialogue and mutual coexistence among people from different faiths, and expanding economic cooperation.
The European Union sees Jordan as a force of moderation in the Middle East, and as a positive example to its neighbors.
Guided by the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Jordan has embarked on an aggressive reform program, focusing on political, social,
and economic advancement. This has been widely commended by the EU, as translated into Jordan's acquisition of the "advanced status"
in its partnership with the EU in October of 2010.
Jordan is resolved to opening new venues of cooperation with Europe and will continue to play a positive role in the Middle East
and stand firmly for peace and stability in the region.
I hope that our website will prove to be an enriching contribution of our Embassy to Jordan’s friends in Europe and worldwide
and a tool through which we can promote the treasures of our country and the charm of its people.
Welcome!
The Ambassador of Jordan to Belgium and the European Union
Dr. Montaser OKLAH AL-ZOU'BI
